Thursday!

Well everyone, the official word is that the closing is on Thursday!!! I have been hesitant to put updates of what has been happening with the housing process because there has been so many questions and waiting involved that it was hard to sustain excitement for long periods of time. But now it is official! We are to meet at 3:30pm at Adam's lawyer's office to sign papers upon papers upon papers. Pretty exciting stuff! We have a church cleaning bee planned for this Sunday, but the hope is that after that is done, we will go back to the house and begin the renovations process. For those of you interested in pictures, I will probably take a bunch of pictures this weekend and put them on picasa web album and sent invites that way. Just let me know if you would like to see it. : )
For now, tata!

Wedding Shower

Ok everyone, this is the official invite for my wedding shower. ; ) It will be May 10 (Sunday) at 3:30 at the Bennington Seventh Day Adventist Church. We are getting the invitations together, both for the shower and wedding, but this is the early-bird invite! : ) Some of you live far away, and I understand if you can't make it. I had this nice naive' idea that Adam would be there too. Course when he wrinkled up his nose and said "Eeww," I asked Mom what she thought. She supported him! I guess I was all in favor of the fun, guy and girl shower idea. News to me: I got voted down! So, sorry to all you men out there, looks like its going to be a girly thing. This will probably be the one and only wedding shower, so if you want to come, come to this one.

If you need ideas of what we need, I would suggest looking on our wedding website. We have the different places we have registered at listed there. ; ) No worries, if you have a special gift of your own design, we are not opposed. : )          http://www.momentville.com/adamandashley1209

Makeover!

Yes everyone, I have changed my layout again. I was not totally sold on the last layout, and after seeing pictures on everyone's blogs, I decided to join the movement.

This is my week off from school, and I am enjoying it by having computer time spent doing unproductive things and not feeling guilty about it (aka facebook etc. ) ; ) I finished this term, with what I  believe to be A's in both of my classes, so that is exciting. ; ) Next term I will be taking Diseases of the Human Body, and Microsoft Office computer classes. Should be interesting.

Good news, I believe I am getting over my cold, but it is sure taking its sweet time! On wedding notes, Mom and Gail are planning a Bridal shower for us, and it may potentially be May 10. If that is made sure, then I will post again to let everyone know. : ) I guess that is about it for now. Enjoy the one sunny day folks!

Snow in April?

So I am sitting in my chair this morning, April 7, and it is sunny and warm and beautiful....no wait, thats Florida! Hah! Its snowing! You hear me? Snowing in April! Ok, so maybe it is not all that uncommon, but I am pretty unhappy, because I was really beginning to enjoy my walk/jog in the morning in less layers of clothing and sunshine. Besides, sunny weather just makes July seem that much closer.....only a little over 3 months!!!! The house deal is still in progress. Adam signed the preliminary contract last Thursday, and the assessment/inspection was done on Friday, and we await the results. Our mortgage lady said we may be expecting a commitment letter by the end of this week! If this does go through, it is truly an act of God, not us, and that is greatest part about it!

So after all of this rather miserable weather and too many late nights, my immune system finally gave in to the pressure. On Sabbath I spent the afternoon on the couch, while my honey made me some special cold care/throat coat tea, and slept. It helped a lot, but not those nasty little microbes, or viruses, not really sure which, are having a come back. Grrr. Oh well, hopefully it will be out of my system by the time sunny weather decides to return. ; )

Not too much else going on. If there is an BIG news, I will post again!

Contemplations

It never ceases to amaze me how God likes to tweak the way I think. I was up in Maine this past weekend attending meetings that focused on church ministry and outreach. A side issue arose, typical to Adventistism, and all of a sudden we were focusing on music and the divide of beliefs associated with it, instead of reaching the world for God. It is funny how often things like this happen. Satan will use any means he can to keep us from accomplishing the most important calling we have on this earth: the great commission. Sadly, all to often we fall hook-line-and sinker. I found myself in this situation, for the first time not on one side or the other, but as a bystander, watching the events unfold, praying for God to be glorified somehow through it all. I am learning that the beliefs I held as a hurt child about such matters were more based on circumstances than God's presence in my life. He is tweaking pieces of me, one by one, making me more suitable for the Kingdom.

"Lord, I just pray that in the process you will not allow me to be a stumbling block to other."

A nice weekend

After a long and restful weekend, it is back to work and school. I have been rediscovering the joys of God's nature every morning, as I get out and walk/jog on the hill we live on. It is so beautiful to be out in the chill of the morning and hear the birds singing again. Winter tried to prove itself yesterday, by snowing like crazy for about 10 minutes, but it quickly dissipated, and the sun came back through. Today looks like it will be pretty chilly, but the majority of the rest of the week should be in the 50s.

We were delighted to find out that our good friends Joe and Megan will be tying the knot in exactly one week from when we do! And to make it even more neat, we will already be in Maine on our honeymoon, so it won't be like we have to travel. So much excitement floating around!!!
