Contemplations

It never ceases to amaze me how God likes to tweak the way I think. I was up in Maine this past weekend attending meetings that focused on church ministry and outreach. A side issue arose, typical to Adventistism, and all of a sudden we were focusing on music and the divide of beliefs associated with it, instead of reaching the world for God. It is funny how often things like this happen. Satan will use any means he can to keep us from accomplishing the most important calling we have on this earth: the great commission. Sadly, all to often we fall hook-line-and sinker. I found myself in this situation, for the first time not on one side or the other, but as a bystander, watching the events unfold, praying for God to be glorified somehow through it all. I am learning that the beliefs I held as a hurt child about such matters were more based on circumstances than God's presence in my life. He is tweaking pieces of me, one by one, making me more suitable for the Kingdom.

"Lord, I just pray that in the process you will not allow me to be a stumbling block to other."

A nice weekend

After a long and restful weekend, it is back to work and school. I have been rediscovering the joys of God's nature every morning, as I get out and walk/jog on the hill we live on. It is so beautiful to be out in the chill of the morning and hear the birds singing again. Winter tried to prove itself yesterday, by snowing like crazy for about 10 minutes, but it quickly dissipated, and the sun came back through. Today looks like it will be pretty chilly, but the majority of the rest of the week should be in the 50s.

We were delighted to find out that our good friends Joe and Megan will be tying the knot in exactly one week from when we do! And to make it even more neat, we will already be in Maine on our honeymoon, so it won't be like we have to travel. So much excitement floating around!!!

Hello All! We have been working on a wedding website that would offer the various details that are important. ; ) It is an easy way to put the details all in one place. You can leave us comments or ask us questions there. It is still in the works. I need to motivate Adam to fill in his information. Guys.... : ) There is also an option on the homepage to subscribe to it so that any time we make a change or add information you will now. ; )
Anyways, here is the link:

Lately...

Ok, so I have been not so faithful in keeping this thing updated. We are still waiting on the house deal. We were recommended to a different mortgage broker and have been pre-apporoved for the long. The actual approval will be applied for, but we won't know for a couple weeks. So long to wait! The rest of the plans are coming along though. I will try to do better about updating. ; ) Otherwise, catch me on facebook!

Understanding

God's ways are mysterious at times. Just when you think you might be grasping what He is after, you turn another corner and face a different challenge. The house we have been looking at and praying seems out of our reach. Unless God can work a miracle and bend the branch a little lower, it seems lost. This is understandable, because we knew God would show His will concerning the thing. Hard not to be the least bit of disappointed, though. Who knows, maybe something will change. Only God knows.

On a happier note, I was ecstatic last night to find out that our good friends Joe Lapoint and Megan Souza are engaged!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them last year at Southern, and greatly miss them now. We couldn't be happier for them! Now, may God just lead them to somewhere closer by.....

For now, tata.

Prayers please

Hello all. I just wanted to take a minute to update on what has been going on and ask for your prayers as we need them all! :) I was considering not posting anything about this until we knew for sure, but it seemed to make much more sense to speak now in that we could use as many prayers as possible. We were made aware of a house in a nice location just last week. The owner's wife died just two weeks ago and he just wants out. There are several other details that make the situation more complex, but God knows what they are. I ask for all of your prayers, because after we went to a class on how to buy a house last night, we talked with a lady banker and have an appointment to meet with her tonight at 5:00. If you think of it, please pray that God's will be done. We know that if this doesn't work out, it is obviously because He has better plans for us. Thank you all for the prayers!
